According to FBR, the MPs' tax records contain "inaccurate data" from Senator Faisal Javed

The Federal Revenue Council (FBR) explained on Friday that it had published "inaccurate information" by Pakistani Senator Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Faisal Javed on a parliamentary list, adding that lawmakers paid more than 46,000 rupees to pay taxes in 2018.

In a series of tweets, an FBR spokeswoman said the senator had contacted tax authorities and said ID cards and taxes paid were wrongly listed on the list.
After reviewing the logs, it was found that CNIC and taxes paid by senators were properly registered in the tax registers of all taxpayers for the 2018 tax year with serial number 499903, but the list of MPs contained incorrect information about CNIC and its tax payments - he told the FBR.

The bureau said correct records showed senators paid 46,127 rupees in tax, adding that the list of MPs had also been updated. FBR also apologized to the Senator for the inconvenience of the accident.

On Friday, the FBI released the 2018 Tax Directory of Pakistan's elected officials, listing former Prime Minister Shahid Hakan Abbasi as the highest-paid tax lawmaker.

However, when the directory was released, it was revealed that the senator, who is believed to be a close adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan, had not paid taxes for 2018. The error was corrected as soon as the Senator stated that he had paid his taxes.
